Minakari (Enamel) art has a history of more than five thousand years and is used to beautify various ornaments and serving dishes. This art combines fire and earth with painting techniques to create attractive patterns.
In the usual method of minakari, the Persian handicraft today, enamel patterns are created on transparent glaze. Then, the master enameler applies white glaze to the dish and repeats the glazing process several times by placing the dish in the furnace at about 900 degrees until the color of the glaze is fixed.
In the next step, the white container is painted and then returned to the oven at about 850 to 900 degrees so that the colors combine and appear in the desired shape. Tin oxide provides the transparency of the enamel. Finally, the tea and coffee set with stunning and memorable designs is ready for use in the showcase and decor.
