 What is needlework?

 It is one of the oldest Iranian handicrafts, which has received the seal of authenticity from UNESCO and is the spiritual heritage of Iran.

Creative Baloch women sew embroidered fabrics with silk or cotton threads of designs of animals, plants, geometric shapes and nature. In the past, the art of needlework or Baluch embroidery was mainly used for the clothes of Sistan and Baluchestan. Still, today they use different needlework fabrics for handmade jewelry, interior decoration, bags and shoes.

All Baloch women learn the art of needlework from youth for financial independence and family support. Today, due to the widespread use of this beautiful and unique fabric, the living conditions of these women have improved.
